He has arrived!

The name:

Thanks to all those that voted on names for our new little boy. It was kind of funny-- I didn't really check the final results until we had the name-- but we came to the same concensus as the poll. It came down to Jackson and Sawyer. . . and Sawyer won. Johnny had a lot of fun playing with people. He told my sister Tara: Leon. . . . Leon Tyger. . . Leon Tyger Bear Hunt. . . . and then she knew or at least hoped he was kidding. He told his sister: Remington Elk Hunt (that one would be believable coming from Johnny though) But the birth certificate has been turned in and it is official: Sawyer Bo Hunt. It is a relief to finally have this kiddo named. I can't believe how hard it has been to find the name for this boy! Sawyer won because it is one of the only names that we could come up with that is unique among those we know. So there you have it!

The special day:

So I finally gave up on the idea that I might get super lucky and have this baby 3 weeks early like my sister Tiana. I took my girls camping at Crystal Hot Springs on Saturday and I even went down the slides several times. I made plans to travel to Grantsville on the 4th for a few days. And I was racking up a to-do list of things I wanted to get done before the baby. On Tuesday night I started having a few contractions-- but they stopped. I went crazy cleaning the house and "nesting" as they call it... thinking nothing of it. That night Charli prayed that "baby brother would come soon" and a few hours later I was dreaming that I was in labor when I felt a gush that told me it was time to wake up. It was actually kind of scary because I was bleeding quite a bit. We called our 2 baby-sitters who didn't answer at 2:30 am. Johnny was able to get his secretary Melinda and her wonderful husband Jared to come up and stay with the girls while we ran to the hospital. We saw 15 deer on the way down and came around a corner and almost ran right into two brown cows staring right through our windshield. Luckily, they didn't go through it. 38 minutes later, we were out of the canyon which was a very relieving feeling. The baby was fine-- they think I had a slight placental abruption-- but everything was okay. I contemplated going natural until I made it to a 7 and then I remembered why the epidural was created! However by the time I was pushing. . . I think I felt about 90% of the pain. And now I know I personally do not plan on EVER going natural. For all those that can-- good for you! You rock! The most exciting news for me was (besides having a beautiful healthy baby boy) that I didn't have to have any stitches. . . THAT is awesome! I am feeling great! But, I am ready for a nap. So, here are a few pics and stats for you and who knows how long it will be before I find time to update again!
